国际马铃薯中心主任西蒙·埃克博士出席第十三届中国国际薯业博览会暨国际薯业发展大会
2023年10月24日，国际马铃薯中心（CIP）总干事西蒙·埃克（SIMON HECK）博士在山东省滕州市出席第十三届中国国际薯业博览会暨国际薯业发展大会并致辞。
埃克博士在致辞中高度赞赏中国薯类产业发展所取得的巨大成就，不仅为确保中国自身粮食安全和消除贫困发挥了重要作用，而且通过种质资源引进利用与保护，丰富了薯类遗传多样性。CIP非常高兴能够通过与中国的密切合作而发挥积极作用。目前，在中国种植的马铃薯品种中，约有25%的品种遗传谱系拥有CIP资源亲缘背景。这意味着在中国餐桌上每四个马铃薯中即有一个品种与CIP的研究成果和种质资源相关。同样，CIP在马铃薯育种、病虫害防控以及人才培养等方面，也与中国业界进行了卓有成效的合作。
展望未来，正如粮农组织总干事屈冬玉博士、著名薯类科学家预计，未来几十年，粮食安全和消除贫困仍将是全球关注并亟待解决的紧迫问题。薯类将比以往任何时候都会对社区提供可靠的食物来源、减轻饥饿和营养不良发挥更为重要的作用。CIP希望进一步加强与中国并通过亚太中心与亚非拉地区各国的合作，为加快推动实现全球粮食安全、消除贫困等可持续发展目标做出应有贡献。
第十三届中国国际薯博会暨国际薯业发展大会是由农业农村部农业贸易促进中心、中国国际贸促会农业行业分会主办，山东省农业农村厅、枣庄市人民政府联合主办，CIP作为海外支持机构积极参与。农业农村部副部长马有祥、山东省政府副省长陈平、世界马铃薯大会主席彼得•范德•桑格 （PETER VANDER ZAAG）博士出席大会并致辞。
On 24th October, the Director General of the International Potato Centre （CIP）, Dr. Simon Heck attended the 13th China Potato Expo and the International Potato Industry Development Summit in Tengzhou, Shandong and delivered a speech.
In his speech, Dr. Simon Heck praised the great achievements of the Chinese potato industry, which has not only played an important role in ensuring food security and alleviating poverty, but also enriched the genetic diversity of potatoes through germplasm introduction and conservation. It has been a pleasure for CIP to play its positive role through close cooperation with China. At present,25%of the variety genealogy has a background of CIP resources, which means that one out of four potatoes on the Chinese people’s dining tables is linked to CIP research achievements and germplasm. Meanwhile, CIP has had fruitful cooperation with the potato industry in terms of potato breeding, pest and disease control and talent cultivation.
Looking into the future, Dr. Qu Dongyu, Director-General of FAO and a renowned potato scientist, predicts that food security and poverty alleviation will remain a pressing issue of global concern that needs to be addressed immediately. Potatoes will play a more important role than ever before in providing a stable source of food for communities and alleviating hunger and malnutrition. CIP hopes to make more contribution to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals, including food security and poverty alleviation, through further cooperation with China, Asia, Africa, and Latin America based on the CIP-China Centre for Asia Pacific （CCCAP）.
The 13th China Potato Expo & the International Potato Industry Development Summit was hosted by Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Aaffairs （MARA） and the Shandong Provincial Government, and CIP actively participated in the conference as an overseas supporting organisation. Vice-Minister Ma Youxiang of MARA, Vice-Governor Chen Ping of Shandong Provincial Government and Dr. Peter Vander Zaag, President of the World Potato Congress (WPC) attended the meeting and delivered speeches.
